28th Annual Thirukalyana Festival Celebrated at Sri Karumariamman Shaktipeetam

The 28th annual Thirukalyana festival was celebrated at Sri Karumariamman Shaktipeetam in Koundampalayam, Coimbatore on April 17. Numerous significant religious activities marked the festivities.


Coimbatore: The Sri Karumariamman Shaktipeetam in Koundampalayam's Kirinagar celebrated its 28th annual Thirukalyana festival on April 17. Located in Coimbatore for over four decades, this temple has become a pivotal spiritual site.


The festivities included special rituals, led by the temple's head Siva Sri Senthil Swamigal, along with the participation of Perur Adheenam Thavathiru Santhalinga Marudhasala Adigalar, and Siravai Adheenam Thavathiru Ramananda Kumaraguruparar from Kaumarapalayam, enriching the ceremonial observations.




Events kicked off last Tuesday with a special abhishekam for Sri Karumariamman, followed by an ornamentation ceremony, Maha Ganapathi Homam, and flag hoisting. The Avvai Shanmugi Theivik Group brought further vitality performing a special dance while dressed as the goddess. Additionally, the ritual of fetching and carrying the sacred fire from Sri Devi Nagar's Vetrivel Vinayagar Temple was a sight of devoutness coupled with the offering of Anna Dhanam.


Furthermore, the festival will conclude this coming Friday, April 19, with Deepaaradhana and Anna Dhanam, ensuring a special dispensation of prasadam to all participants.
