SP Velumani, Minister for Municipal.Administration and Rural Development met the press after the inauguration of the Smart Hackathon 2017 at Sri Krishna Engineering College.
During the press meet the Minister alleged that DMK is provoking people to demonstrate protests on water scarcity issues in their respective wards.
'Agreed that a serious water crisis prevails in the city. But it's beyond governance, as drought has struck Tamil Nadu like ever before.
I have passed orders to the district administration to address water shortage greivances on priority at all 100 wards. Additional lorries have been deployed to dispense water to areas which suffer acute shortage.
Making use of this situation, the DMK government is instilling false proganda in people's mind regarding water crisis and provoking them to conduct protests.
A couple of days back, protests were held in my constituency (Thondamuthur) also, and DMK was behind that protest. I have accomplished many welfare projects to Thondamuthur constituency people, hence people should re-think and refrain from blindly believing the baseless rumors proposed by DMK' said Minister SP Velumani.
When questioned about the RK Nagar eleCtions, the Minister did not pass any comments.
