Subbulakshmi Jagadesan, Deputy General Secretary of DMK has extended her support to the Tamil Nadu Farmers Association (non-political) at their protest meet held in Karamadai led by their association President, Rangasamy.
The protest meet was hosted to highlight the plight of the farmer's protesting in New Delhi and also urging the government to seek action on animal intervention on agricultural lands and stoppage of construction of check dams across Bhavani river by the Kerala Government.

Subbulakshmi Jagadesan visited Karamadai to flag off a free medical camp, as a part of Working President of DMK, MK Stalin's birthday.
When speaking at the protest meet hosted by Tamil Nadu Farmers Association (non-political), Subbulakshmi Jagadesan said, 'It's highly condemnable that the Central Government is openly exhibiting a lethargic attitude in handling the farmers' issue.
As we all know, Agriculture is the backbone of our economy and it's unfitting that the central government has not shown any concern towards the farmers who are pathetically fighting for their basic welfare on the streets of New Delhi for the 18th consecutive day.
Subbulakshmi Jagadeesan, questioned that when Prime Minister Narendra Modi had time to visit Coimbatore to attend a private event, how is that now he doesn't have time to address the farmers' issue?
For the past two years, the Farmers in Tamil Nadu are put in tremendous distress and hundreds of farmers have lost their precious lives due to continuous negligence of their pleas by the state and central governments'. she said.
