For the past couple of months, 'Save water' has become the mantra of the city. As the city is experiencing a major outbreak in terms of water shortage, residents in most of the wards are forced to buy water for money to accomplish their daily chores.
City Corporation has bestowed it's fullest resources to cater to the needs of the people by deploying additional lorries to supply water and also launched a toll-free number to lodge grievances. However, people's responsible and economical way of spending water is what matters the most.
As a part of the routine ward visit, Corporation Commissioner Dr. K. Vijayakarthikeyan inspected Ward No:52, Siddhapudur. He paid a surprise visit to a residential area and interacted with the women to use water economically and ensure that pipes are closed properly to avoid water leakage.
He also visited the Corporation Girls Higher Secondary School at Siddhapudur and inspected the new bore-well installed in the school.

The officials also visited the water tank at Ambika Lay out of Ward No:52. Corporation Commissioner interacted with the zonal officers regarding maintenance of the tank and water disbursement schedules.

During the visit, the waste segregation at source by the Corporation workers was also reviewed.
