As reported earlier, non-operational rusted garbage bins in Masakalipalayam, near GV residency is more in number than the usable bins. These rusted and wrecked bins are incapable of holding the trash thereby leaving people no option other than to spill the trash as per their convenience.

This morning, a rusted Corporation garbage bin in Masakalipalayam was set on fire by some miscreants. The smoke emanating from the trash spread all over the area causing air pollution.
The residents of that area have appealed that more garbage bins with higher holding capacity should be provided to their area and all rusted bins should be replaced with new bins.
However, it's just not Masakalipalayam most of the areas within Corporation limits can be easily spotted with such rusted and broken bins.
Depending upon the population size, garbage bins with higher capacity should be installed in areas to avoid people dumping garbage right in front of the trash instead of dumping into the bin.
However, in the new budget 2017-18, close to 15 crores has been allotted by the city corporation towards installing sensor garbage bins at all 100 wards. These bins will be installed with sensors which will alert the ward/zone officials to replace a new bin or clean the trash.
