AIADMK Conducts Human Chain Protest in Kolathupalayam Against Drug Menace

In Kolathupalayam, near Dharapuram in Tirupur district, AIADMK members formed a human chain to protest against the rising drug abuse in Tamil Nadu, blaming the police for their failure to curb drug sales and accusing former DMK administrator Jaffer Sadiq of involvement in drug trafficking.

Coimbatore: The increasing problem of drug abuse in Tamil Nadu, especially in the Kolathupalayam area close to Dharapuram in Tirupur district, prompted AIADMK members to stage a human chain protest. The protest, led by AIADMK urban district secretary Pipe Ravi, aimed to draw attention to the growing concern over drug sales and the alleged inaction of law enforcement agencies.

The party members accused the current DMK government of negligence, particularly pointing out the involvement of a former DMK administrator, Jaffer Sadiq, in drug trafficking activities. The rising drug menace has significantly impacted the lives of college students, school children, and youth, leading to severe distress among parents and communities.

The human chain protest held in Moolanur under the leadership of AIADMK's urban district secretary, Vettrivel, witnessed a considerable turnout, with over 500 party officials and members participating. Prominent figures, including assembly speaker Muthukumar, treasurer Kuzhandaisamy, and spokesperson Muthumani, joined the demonstration, emphasizing the urgent need to address the drug problem in the state.

The participants criticized the DMK government for watching idly as drug-related issues worsened, urging immediate action to safeguard the youth and ensure the well-being of society.
