Coimbatore: In a show of public frustration, residents of Thirumalaiyampalayam staged a protest at the local bus stop today, March 2, 2024, at 7:40 AM, against the Coimbatore District Transport Corporation for neglecting their repeated pleas for bus service improvements.

The protestors called for a regularization of the timings for the 3E and 3S buses, the extension of the 3E bus route to Gandhipuram, the reinstatement of the discontinued 3C bus service, and the operation of the 101B bus at 5:00 AM.

Despite multiple petitions submitted to the transport authority, their requests have gone unaddressed, leading to the capture of a bus in a symbolic act of protest.

R. Rameshkumar, a member of the Thirumalaiyampalayam Panchayat Council, represented the community's grievances and spearheaded the demonstration. This action underscores the community's growing dissatisfaction with the public transport services in their area and their demand for immediate action.
