In a government event at Codissia, Coimbatore, Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin launched the "College Dream 2024" project and distributed ATM cards under the Kalaignar Women's Rights Scheme, providing Rs.1000 to 622 women from Sri Lankan Tamil rehabilitation camps in Coimbatore district.

Coimbatore: During a notable government event held at the Codissia complex on February 29, Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin initiated multiple welfare projects, including the "College Dream 2024" program aimed at guiding school students on higher educational opportunities. A significant highlight of the event was the distribution of financial assistance to 622 women from four Sri Lankan Tamil rehabilitation camps in the Coimbatore district. As part of the Kalaignar Women's Rights Scheme, ATM cards were provided to these women, enabling them to receive Rs.1000 in aid.

In addition to this financial support, the minister also inaugurated a skill training project for the youth and young women residing in the Sri Lankan Tamil rehabilitation camps under the Naan Mudhalvan scheme. This initiative aims to enhance their employability by offering various skill development programs.

These efforts reflect the Tamil Nadu government's commitment to supporting the education and empowerment of marginalized communities, including the Sri Lankan Tamil population seeking refuge and a new life in India. By providing financial aid and skill development opportunities, the government aims to facilitate a smoother integration of these individuals into society, ensuring they have the necessary resources and skills to thrive.
