Sanitation Worker Dies from Electrocution, Another Injured in Veerapandi

In Veerapandi, near Periyanayakanpalayam in Coimbatore, sanitation worker Dinesh died due to electrocution while Mari Muthu was injured and is receiving treatment at Coimbatore Government Hospital.


Coimbatore: A tragic incident occurred in Veerapandi, near Periyanayakanpalayam in Coimbatore, where a sanitation worker, Dinesh, lost his life due to electrocution. Another worker, Mari Muthu, sustained injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at Coimbatore Government Hospital. Dinesh and Mari Muthu were working as temporary sanitation workers in the Veerapandi Panchayat, with Dinesh also serving as a driver.

The accident happened today opposite the Panchayat office in Amman Nagar, where Dinesh and Mari Muthu were unloading flex iron frames. Unexpectedly, they came into contact with an electric shock that instantly killed Dinesh at the scene.

Mari Muthu, who was injured during the incident, was promptly rescued by bystanders and admitted to the Coimbatore Government Hospital for medical treatment. The Periyanayakanpalayam police have registered a case and are conducting an investigation into the accident.
