Tamil Nadu Chief Minister launched a Rs. 185 crore underground sewage project for the Ondipudur Sewage Treatment Plant under the Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation AMRUT 2.0 scheme through a video conference at the Neymeli sea water desalination plant campus in Chengalpattu district on February 24, 2024.
Coimbatore: The Honorable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu inaugurated the underground sewage project works for the Ondipudur Sewage Treatment Plant, as part of the Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation AMRUT 2.0 scheme. This Rs. 185 crore initiative was launched through a video conference at the Neymeli sea water desalination plant campus in Chengalpattu district on February 24, 2024. The project aims to improve sanitation facilities in the underprivileged areas of Ondipudur.


The event saw the participation of dignitaries including the respected Mayor Kalpana Anandakumar, City Commissioner Ma. Sivaguru Prabakaran IAS, Deputy Mayor Ra. Vetriselvan, Deputy Commissioner K. Sivakumar, Zone Chairpersons Lakshmi Elangovan (East), K.A. Deivayanai Tamilmagan (West), Meena Logu (Central), Works Committee Chairperson Shanthimurugan, the 57th Ward Council Member Shanthamani among others, Assistant Commissioner Kavitha, and various city officials. The project is a significant step towards enhancing the city's infrastructure and public health standards.
