Special Announcement: Thiruchendur Express to Operate Up to Vanchi Maniyachi Until 28th February

In a significant update for devotees and travelers, the Southern Railway has announced the Thiruchendur Express, originating from Palakkad, Kerala, will operate up to Vanchi Maniyachi until 28th February due to maintenance work. The train, serving as a vital link to Thiruchendur, passes through Pollachi, Udumalpet, Palani, Dindigul, Madurai, Tirunelveli, Virudhunagar, and Vanchi Maniyachi, facilitating numerous devotees and travelers on their journey.


Udumalpet, February 23 - In an important update for the devotees of Lord Murugan and regular commuters, the Southern Railway has announced a temporary operational change for the Thiruchendur Express. The express train, a daily service from Palakkad, Kerala, to the revered Thiruchendur Temple, one of Lord Murugan's six abodes, will only run up to Vanchi Maniyachi until the 28th of February due to ongoing maintenance works in the route section beyond Vanchi Maniyachi.

The train's usual route includes stops at Pollachi, Udumalpet, Palani, Dindigul, Madurai, Tirunelveli, Virudhunagar, and finally, Thiruchendur. However, with the announced temporary route adjustment, the service aims to accommodate the maintenance needs while minimizing disruption to passengers' travel plans.

This decision affects numerous devotees and travelers heading to Thiruchendur, a significant pilgrimage site for worshippers of Lord Murugan. The Southern Railway has made this operational change to ensure safety and smooth travel for passengers amidst the infrastructure upgrade. Passengers are advised to plan their journeys accordingly during this period.
