Domestic Worker Arrested for Theft in Coimbatore

In Coimbatore, near Thadagam, a domestic worker named Bharathi was caught stealing cash and jewelry from the residence of Ayurvedic doctors Muthukumar and Bharathi, thanks to a hidden video capture by the homeowners.

Coimbatore: A domestic worker was caught stealing cash and jewelry in a well-planned operation by her employers in the Pannimadai area, near Thadagam, Coimbatore. The couple, Muthukumar and Bharathi, both Ayurvedic doctors, had employed Bharathi (aged 37) from the Chinna Thadagam area for household work.

Over time, the couple noticed frequent disappearances of money and jewelry from their home. Recently, it was reported that Rs. 30,000 in cash was stolen. Suspecting their domestic worker, Bharathi, the couple decided to monitor her actions closely. In a strategic move, Muthukumar and his wife pretended to leave the house and secretly stayed back, hiding in a loft opposite the cupboard in their bedroom.

As anticipated, the domestic worker arrived and stole 10 grams of jewelry and Rs. 34,000 in cash from the cupboard. Unbeknownst to her, the entire act was being recorded on a cellphone by the couple hiding in the loft. They then caught her red-handed with both the stolen goods and the video evidence.

The couple handed Bharathi over to the Thadagam police station, where she was arrested based on the video evidence. The video of Bharathi committing the theft has since been released, bringing to light the incident.
