Avinashilingam Institute and US Universities Jointly Host Modern Research Education Exhibition

Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science and Higher Education for Women partnered with over fifteen American universities to organize a one-day educational exhibition on modern research, highlighting the importance of educational collaboration and advanced research.

Coimbatore: In a significant event marking the collaboration between Indian and American educational institutions, Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science and Higher Education for Women hosted a one-day American Education Exhibition at its campus. The exhibition saw participation from representatives of eighteen American universities, aiming to provide students with an expansive view of the study programs offered by US universities and to awaken their interest in various research fields.

The exhibition focused on key aspects such as fostering educational cooperation, promoting cutting-edge research, designing dual education programs, and identifying potential areas in education and research initiatives. A press meet held at the university premises further highlighted the event's success, where Dr. Meenakshi Sundaram, the Vice-Chancellor of Avinashilingam University, along with Deputy Vice-Chancellor Dr. Bharathi Hari Shankar, Registrar Dr. Kausalya, Dean Dr. Vasuki Raja, and Deputy Administrative Officer Dr. Gowri Ramakrishnan, spoke to the media. They were joined by Scott Hadley, an official from the American Consulate in Chennai, who shared insights into the growing number of Indian students pursuing education in the US, with ten lakh visas issued last year alone. Hadley noted an increase in Indian students selecting fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) for their studies in America.

This collaborative exhibition not only offered students insights into the advanced educational and research opportunities available in the US but also underscored the increasing educational ties between the two nations, emphasizing the significant role of academic collaboration in fostering global knowledge exchange.
