Valparai, February 16: A forest fire that erupted in the Aiyarpadi Estate region close to Valparai, Coimbatore District, was promptly controlled thanks to the swift action of the Forest Department and the local residents. The fire started last night in the estate forest area located along the Valparai-Pollachi road, covering approximately 50 acres near the No. 7 residential area of Aiyarpadi Estate.

The initial signs of smoke were noticed by the estate management and locals, who quickly reported the situation to the Forest Department. Within a short period, the fire spread rapidly through the forest, posing a significant threat to the local vegetation and wildlife.

The Forest Department personnel, along with members of the local community, sprang into action to contain the fire.
