Thirumoorthy Hills Boat House Undergoes Inspection by District Tourism Officer

District Tourism Officer Aravindakumar conducted an inspection at Thirumoorthy Hills Boat House, exploring developments to enhance the tourist attraction located near Udumalai in Tirupur district, set amidst the Western Ghats.

Thirumoorthy Hills, located near Udumalai in the Tirupur district and nestled within the Western Ghats, boasts the medicinal Panchalingam Waterfall at an elevation of 960 meters. At the base of this picturesque hill, alongside the Noyyal River, is the Thirumoorthy Malai Amanalingeswarar Temple, which venerates the trinity of Shiva, Vishnu, and Brahma. The area is also home to the Thirumoorthy Hills Dam Park, featuring a boat house, swimming pool, aquarium, and playground, offering various amenities to visitors.

In a bid to further enhance the area's attractions, District Tourism Officer Aravindakumar, in collaboration with officials from multiple departments, recently conducted a thorough inspection of the boat house and the proposed developments at the Thirumoorthy Hills Dam Park. This initiative aims to bolster tourism by improving the facilities and experiences offered to visitors at this scenic locale.

The Thirumoorthy Hills Dam area is recognized for its scenic beauty and has been the focus of ongoing efforts by the Water Resources Department to create an attractive dam park over an area of 2700 meters. A recent proposal, estimated at Rs. 10 crores, has been submitted to the government by the Water Resources Department to construct the park, with the objective of attracting more tourists to the region.

During the inspection, discussions also touched upon the previously operational boat house, seeking insights into its discontinuation. It was revealed that the boat service was halted in 2008 due to continuous financial losses. The possibility of reinstating the boat house is being explored, with the aim of enhancing the visitor experience.

Following the inspection, Aravindakumar expressed confidence that prompt actions would be taken to reintroduce the boat house, with the support of the Tourism Department and district administration, to strengthen Thirumoorthy Hills' appeal as a tourist destination.

The inspection was attended by key figures from the Tirupur District Tourism Development Committee, including S.M. Nagaraj, Sathyam Babu, Naveen, Taluk President Kalpana, Water Resources Officer Karunakaran, and tourism enthusiasts, showcasing a collective effort to promote tourism in Thirumoorthy Hills.
