Coimbatore: On January 27, saw the disconnection of water supply in five commercial buildings in Coimbatore, following an order by Commissioner Sivaguru Prabakaran due to unpaid property taxes.

These buildings are situated in key areas such as Kamarajar Road, Valuvar Nagar, Harigaarden, Nesavalar Colony, and Aerodrome Road, all under Coimbatore East Zone. Despite notices being sent to the owners of these commercial complexes, the continued non-payment of property taxes led to this decisive action. The measure underscores the municipal corporation's stance on compliance with tax regulations, especially concerning commercial properties.
