Tamil Nadu Farmers Association Protests in Pollachi Demanding Fair Compensation for Land Acquisition

Coimbatore: Today, the Tamil Nadu Farmers Association staged a protest in Pollachi, emphasizing their demands for fair compensation for the agricultural lands acquired for the Nagercoil-Dindigul-Coimbatore National Highway bypass project. The protest was led by Appavu Ranganathan, a key member of the association, and the state's deputy leader, Madhusudanan, delivered a condemnation speech.



Farmers' demands include immediate payment of compensation at market value for the acquired land and addressing the livelihood losses of those who surrendered their lands for the highway project. The demonstration took place on the Palladam Road in Puliyampatti, underlining the urgent need for government intervention.

Key figures like Palanisamy, the Coimbatore district secretary of the Tamil Nadu Farmers Association, secretary Stalin Palanisamy, and Puliyampatti branch secretary Paramasivam, along with several other members, participated in the protest, vociferously asserting their demands.
