The event saw participation from police officers and their families, who gathered to cook Pongal in new pots, symbolizing prosperity and gratitude.

The highlight of the celebration was the presence of Coimbatore City Police Commissioner Balakrishnan, who arrived in a bullock cart wearing traditional attire. He actively participated in the festivities, including the moment when Pongal boiled over, marking it with cheers and enthusiasm.

The event included a variety of competitions such as pot-breaking, tree climbing, sack race, and a slow bicycle race, offering entertainment and fun for the attendees.

Commissioner Balakrishnan notably took part in the slow bicycle race, tucking up his dhoti and cycling along with others, adding to the festive spirit.
Traditional cultural performances like Oyilattam, Mayilattam, and Karagattam were also organized, showcasing the rich heritage of Tamil Nadu.
