Tamil Nadu Government Invites Applications for 'Green Champion Award'

Coimbatore district administration announces the call for applications for the Tamil Nadu Government's Green Champion Award, recognizing contributions in environmental conservation for the year 2021-22.


Coimbatore: The Coimbatore district administration has announced that applications for the Tamil Nadu Government's prestigious 'Green Champion Award' can be submitted until April 15. This annual award, initiated in 2021-22, acknowledges exceptional contributions to environmental protection.

100 individuals and organizations across the state will be selected for their significant environmental efforts. Winners will receive a cash prize of Rs. 1 lakh each. Eligible applicants include individuals, institutions, educational establishments, local bodies, factories, and resident welfare associations.

Contributions in environmental education, research, awareness, conservation, innovative green products, sustainable development, waste management, water conservation, air pollution control, and plastic waste management are considered for evaluation.

Three awardees will be chosen from Coimbatore district, and the awards will be presented on World Environment Day. Detailed information and application forms are available online. Applications must be submitted by April 15, as per the current announcement.
