Coimbatore: A group of over 20 primary education teachers, under the banner of the Joint Action Committee of Tamil Nadu Primary Education Teachers, staged a protest in front of the Valparai Educational District Officer’s office in Coimbatore district. The teachers strongly advocated for 12 significant demands, including the cancellation of Government Order (G.O.) 243, dismissal of FIRs filed against protesters, exemption from EMIS (Educational Management Information System) duties, avoiding the appointment of teachers as resource persons in seminars, and provision of salaries equivalent to central government employees for middle school teachers.
