Coimbatore Mayor Distributes Pongal Gift Packages to Families

Mayor Kalpana Anandakumar provides Pongal gift packages including cash and essential items to cardholders in Coimbatore's 19th ward fair price shops.


Coimbatore: In the spirit of the Pongal festival, Mayor Mrs. Kalpana Anandakumar today distributed gift packages to all family cardholders at the fair price shops in Maniyakarampalayam, MKP Colony, Krishna Nagar, Sridevi Nagar, and Nehru Nagar under the North Zone, 19th Ward of Coimbatore Corporation. Alongside the Chief Minister's welfare measures, beneficiaries received ₹1000 in cash, 1 kg of sugar, 1 kg of rice, and sugarcane. The event was attended by Executive Committee Member Mr. Anandakumar, Chairman Arunasalam, Women's Wing Deputy Organizer Jothi, Deputy Secretary Susheela, Representative Kathir, and administrators Raghu, Eswaran, and Saravanan.



This initiative aligns with the Tamil Nadu government's efforts, led by the Chief Minister, to support the community during the harvest festival. It underscores the government's commitment to welfare and the festive tradition of sharing prosperity.
