Flood Surrounds Amalingeswarar Temple at Thirumoorthy Hills, Udumalai

Heavy rains lead to flooding around the Amalingeswarar Temple at the base of Thirumoorthy Hills in Udumalai, Tiruppur district.


Coimbatore: Continuous heavy rains have led to a flood surrounding the Amalingeswarar Temple located at the base of Thirumoorthy Hills, near Udumalai in Tiruppur district. The temple area, along with surrounding regions including Gurumalai, Kuzhipatti, Jalli, and Muthan Parai, has been engulfed by the overflowing waters from Panchalingam Falls.




Temple authorities have issued warnings through loudspeakers, advising people to avoid visiting the temple area for safety reasons. Additionally, with the ongoing heavy water discharge at Panchalingam Falls, temple staff are vigilantly monitoring the situation.




This flooding poses a risk not only to the temple but also to the surrounding forest areas. Efforts are being made to ensure safety and to assess the impact of the floods on the region.
