Vinayakar Chaturthi celebration at Topslip Elephant Camp - Special poojas for elephants

Vinayagar Chaturthi festival was celebrated with great pomp and gaiety at Topsilip elephant camp near Pollachi.The elephants were decorated and special poojas were performed.


Coimbatore: Special poojas were performed to the elephants on the occasion of Vinayagar Chaturthi festival. Subsequently, the elephants were garlanded and fruit saplings were served as food.

Vinayagar Chaturthi festival was celebrated at topsilip reared elephant camp near Pollachi. There are 26 domesticated elephants maintained in the Kozhikamuthi camp near Topsilip in Ulandi forest range under Anaimalai Tiger Reserve.

In this camp, Ganesh Chaturthi festival was celebrated on Monday. Tiger Reserve Field Director Ramasubramaniam and Deputy Director Bhargavateja were present on the occasion. Assistant Conservator of Forests Selvam, Forest Ranger Sundaravel and forest department officials participated.

On the occasion of Vinayagar Chaturthi, special pujas were performed at the Vinayagar temple there. Elephants were lined up at the temple. Thereafter, special poojas were performed to Lord Vinayaka and the elephants. Deeparadhana was shown. Subsequently, the elephants were garlanded and fruits were served as food.
