Lok Adalat in Dharapuram - 167 cases resolved and Rs 5 crore settled

At the National People's Court event held under the chairmanship of Additional District Judge John Meeno at the Combined Court Premises on behalf of the Dharapuram Taluk Legal Services Committee, 167 cases were disposed of at a cost of Rs.5.64 crore.


Tirupur: A total of 167 cases were disposed of at a cost of Rs 5.64 crore at the National Lok Adalat held on behalf of the Dharapuram Taluk Legal Services Committee.

On behalf of Dharapuram Taluk Legal Services Committee in Tirupur district, the National Lok Adalat was held at dharapuram combined court premises under the chairmanship of Dharapuram Additional District Judge John Meeno.



The people's court was held in the presence of Taluk Legal Services Committee Chairman and Sub-Judge Dharmaprabhu, Retired Judge Nagarajan, Civil Judge Mathivathani Vanangamudi and lawyers.

A total of 167 cases — 31 motor vehicle accident cases, 18 civil cases, 96 criminal minor cases, three alimony cases, one domestic violence case, one cheque case, five bank weekly loan cases — were disposed of at a cost of Rs 5.64 crore.

Out of this, 38,714 people benefited through courts. It was attended by public prosecutors and the general public.
