Tirupur Export Company gutted in fire accident: Goods worth crores of rupees damaged

A major fire broke out at the Vaman Baniyan Export Company owned by Murthy in Pala Vanjipalayam area of Tirupur. A major accident has been averted as all the staff had left at that time.


Tirupur: In a major fire that broke out at the Baniyan Export Company, the raw materials, including baniyan machines worth crores of rupees, baniyan garments and yarn kept ready for export, were completely gutted in the fire.

More than 100 people are employed in the Vaman Baniyan Export Company owned by Murthy in Pala Vanjipalayam area of Tirupur.



In this case, a fire broke out shortly after the workers left work last evening.



Due to this, there was a lot of black smoke coming out of the Baniyan company.



Following this, the neighbours immediately informed the police and the fire department. Fire tenders from Tirupur North, South and Palladam fire stations, who rushed to the spot immediately, were pressed into service to douse the fire.

Firefighters fought and doused the fire as baniyan company was more than 3000 feet square feet tall. The fire completely destroyed several crores of rupees worth of baniyan machines, baniyan garments, yarn and other raw materials kept ready for export.

Veerapandi police are investigating the cause of the fire. Tirupur Corporation Mayor Dinesh Kumar personally visited the spot and expedited the work.
