Coimbatore's Govt. school students celebrate successful landing of Vikram lander on moon

The Vikram lander from the Chandrayaan spacecraft successfully landed on the southern pole of the moon with students from Government schools in the city watching the event with bated breath along with the rest of the world.


Coimbatore: A video of the successful landing of the Vikram lander was telecast for the students at Masakalipalayam Corporation School, much to the delight of the students, teachers and parents. The students jumped with great enthusiasm and expressed their joy while witnessing the historic event.

The Vikram lander from the Chandrayaan spacecraft successfully soft landed on the southern pole of the moon. Various countries, including India, enjoyed watching the event, with various programs held to brief the students of various schools and colleges on the historic event. Apart from this, several people in the city were seen praying for the Vikram lander to make a successful landing without any untoward incident. ISRO shared information, photos and videos of the event which were also broadcast at various locations.



Students of the Masakalipalayam Corporation School in Coimbatore jumped with great enthusiasm and expressed their joy at the historic event telecast for them, after which school teachers distributed sweets to the student fraternity gathered in the school premises.
