DMK deputy general secretary and Nilgiris MP A Raja, after attending government and party programmes in the constituency, left for the airport from Avinashi. He was accompanied by DMK medical wing state office-bearer Gokul Kiruba Shankar and others.
At that time, a youth on a two-wheeler was found lying unconscious on the Neelambur flyover near Kaniyur toll plaza after an accident.
DMK MP A Raja immediately stopped the vehicle on the side of the highway and picked up the seriously injured youth and shifted him in his car to The RoyalCare Private Hospital in Coimbatore for emergency treatment.
Gokul, the doctor who was travelling with him, sent Gokul to accompany the unconscious youth for special treatment. He contacted the hospital on his mobile phone and enquired about the treatment being given to the youth.
Tamil Selvan, an employee of a private company, was travelling on the highway. It was revealed that the road accident occurred after the youth accidentally hit a truck. Doctors are treating the youth who sustained injuries on his neck and hands.
