Seven sovereigns gold ornaments stolen from locked house in Dharapuram

A total of 7-sovereigns jewellery, including a 5-pair of gold earrings and a 4-pound gold chain kept in the cupboard, was stolen.

Bala Dhandayuthapani, who hails from the area, is a retired ITI teacher. He died two years ago due to ill-health. After his death, his wife Meera Rani (53) was living with two sons. Meera Rani married her two daughters last year and are living in Coimbatore.

Meerarani was living alone in Dharapuram when she fell ill and was staying at her daughter's house two months ago and was undergoing treatment.

The day before yesterday, when he returned home to his own house, Dharapuram Subramanyapuram, on the night of The 3rd. Shocked to find that the front door of her house and the lock of the house were broken, Meerarani immediately informed the Dharapuram police.



Acting on the information, police rushed to the spot and conducted an investigation.
