Youth should take advantage of the job fair to be held on August 5 - District Collector

To mark the centenary celebrations of former CM Karunanidhi, a massive job placement camp has been organized by the district administration at Kongunadu Arts and Science College in G N Mills area of Mettupalayam Road in Coimbatore district on Saturday (August 5, 2023).



Coimbatore: Employment camps are being held in various parts of Tamil Nadu to mark the centenary celebrations of Kalaignar.



Accordingly, a massive private placement camp has been organized by the district administration at Kongunadu Arts and Science College in G N Mills area of Mettupalayam Road in Coimbatore district on Saturday (August 5). A large number of private companies are participating in it.



Coimbatore District Collector Kranthi Kumar personally inspected the arrangements for the job fair.



He inspected various aspects of the halls and basic amenities arranged there.



Later, addressing the media, the District Collector said, on the occasion of the centenary celebrations of Kalaignar, a massive private placement camp will be held at Kongunadu Arts and Science College on The 5th. For this, he has given various guidelines to the district as labour minister and commissioner. Accordingly, a review of the preparations at the camp was carried out on Thursday.

So far, 257 companies have registered and confirmed to participate in the camp. There are more than 15,000 vacancies, they said. A website for registration of companies is being implemented continuously. The youth who are waiting for employment should take advantage of this camp. Similarly, in this camp, we have instructed that the minimum monthly salary should not be less than Rs 10,000.

Similarly, all arrangements will be made for food and drinking water on the days of the camp. There are also assistants on behalf of the college to guide the youth who come for employment. It is being attended by all the sectoral organizations, including engineering, healthcare, etc. Apart from Coimbatore, companies from various districts will also be visiting, mostly from Coimbatore district, he said.

Coimbatore District Superintendent of Police Badri Narayanan, Corporation Deputy Commissioner Sivakumar, District Employment Deputy Director Karunakaran, Employment Department Officer Vijayalakshmi Tahsildar Thangaraj and other college officials were present during the inspection.
