Indirect auction of cotton was held at Mulanur Regulated Market in Tirupur district

726 farmers from Tirupur, Karur, Trichy, Dindigul, Erode and Coimbatore districts had brought cotton. Traders from Tirupur, Dindigul, Erode, Salem and Coimbatore districts also participated in the indirect auction to procure cotton.


Indirect auction of cotton was held at Mulanur Regulated Market in Tirupur district. 

Of these, 726 farmers from Tirupur, Karur, Trichy, Dindigul, Erode and Coimbatore districts had brought cotton. Traders from Tirupur, Dindigul, Erode, Salem and Coimbatore districts also participated in the indirect auction to procure cotton. 

The maximum price was Rs 7,789 per quintal, the minimum price was Rs 6,650 and the average price was Rs 7,200. 

The total quantity of cotton is 8051 bags, Rs 2491.24 per quintal at Rs 1,75,99,475/- and 25 traders participated in the indirect auction, senior secretary Tirupur Marketing Committee Suresh Babu said. 

Superintendent Sivakumar had made arrangements for the auction.
