Complaint filed near Sulur for issuing Bharathanatyam Diploma certificate using the name of Bharathiar University

A Bharatanatyam School named Mahi Kalakshetra in Karumathampatti near Sulur in Coimbatore district had advertised that three-year diploma, bachelor's and two-year post-graduate diploma courses in Bharathanatyam were being conducted in the school with the approval of Bharathiar University. Parents have filed a complaint.



Coimbatore: A private Bharatanatyam school near Sulur has been accused of issuing fake certificates using the name of Bharathiar University.



There is a Bharatanatyam School named Mahi Kalakshetra in Karumathampatti near Sulur in Coimbatore district. The school had advertised that three-year diploma, bachelor's and two-year post-graduate diploma courses in Bharathanatyam were being conducted in the school with the approval of Bharathiar University.



Believing this, many people have enrolled in these Bharatanatyam degree courses. It is said that sakthivel's daughter, a native of Kaniyur in Coimbatore, had also completed her diploma in dance here and the management of the dance school had taken Rs 3 lakh to perform.



On Thursday, the girl along with her parents and relatives gheraoed the dance school and staged a sit-in.



Karumathampatti police reached the spot on the information and held talks with the girl's parents and made her disperse.

Earlier, the girl's father Sakthivel spoke to reporters.



I enrolled my daughter in this school because of my interest in Bharatanatyam. in the name of diploma courses, three semester examinations have been conducted and certificates have been issued with the name of bharathiar university.

When contacted, Bharathiar University said that after 2018, Bharathiar University has not given permission for such diploma courses.

When asked about this, the management of the dance school said, They did not give any formal reply. Even though they asked for the money given for the performance, they did not give it back. So we are on a dharna demanding justice for my daughter. We have also lodged a complaint with the police. This is what he said.
