The major catchment areas of the Amaravathi dam near Udumalai in Tirupur district such as Pambar, Thuvanam, Kanthalloor and Marayoor are receiving rainfall.

Due to this, the inflow of water into amaravathi dam is 2,144 cusecs. Due to this, it has gone up by 4 feet in a single day.
Out of the total 90 feet of amaravathi dam, it is currently 57.25 feet. The inflow of water to the Amaravathi dam has been continuously increasing due to incessant rains in the catchment area.
