Coimbatore District Collector Notifies Public about 'Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thogai' Camps

District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati IAS announced that 'Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thogai' camps will be organised in 1401 Fair Price Shops to apply for family card benefits. The first phase of applications will take place from 24th July to 4th August in 839 shops, while the second phase from 5th August to 16th August will be conducted in 562 shops.



Coimbatore: On Wednesday, district collector Kranthi Kumar Pati IAS notified the public about the upcoming camps for the 'Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thogai' application.



He informed that about 11, 43,877 family card beneficiaries have been identified in about 1401 fair price shops. The first phase of the application will be carried out from the 24th of July to the 4th of August in 839 shops and the second phase is scheduled from the 5th -the 16th of August in 562 shops.

In this regard, he stated that one volunteer has been assigned for every 500 persons. Also, a help desk has been assigned in each centre.

"We have planned for a total of 60 people for the first two days, with 30 for the morning and 30 for the afternoon." From the 3rd day, the ratio will increase to 40. The tokens for the same will be distributed through the salesmen of individual shops. The application registration is to be carried out through a mobile application in which biometric access enables cross-examination with Aadhaar holders," said the Collector.

Furthermore, he reported that special camps will be organised for those who are differently abled, physically challenged, or elderly and did not attend the registration camp. Measures to rectify the verification documents like Aadhaar, and bank passbooks will be carried out by the administration. Special transportation facilities will be facilitated for the tribal community in Pollachi and Karamadai areas.

Subsequently, 2979 volunteers will indulge in data entry for the same across the district with 1401 help desk volunteers and various other monitoring heads under the zone, taluk and the district.
