A Pandal worker was found hanging in a forest near Dharapuram

A male body was found hanging in a forest near a TASMAC shop in the Rotalavalasu area of Dharapuram. While the investigation revealed that the deceased was Damodaran, a pandal worker from Ambedkar Nagar, the police are investigating whether the death was a murder or a suicide.


Tirupur: In a shocking incident, a pandal worker was found hanging in a forest area near Dharapuram.

Damodaran (52) is a resident of Ambedkar Nagar near Dharapuram in Tirupur district. He is a pandal worker and has two daughters and a son and has left the house after informing him at home that he was going to pandal work.

Damodaran reportedly did not come home all night. Due to this, the son and daughters searched the neighbourhood. However, they were unable to locate him.



The Dharapuram police received a tip Thursday morning that a male body was found hanging from a tree in the forest near a TASMAC shop in the Rettalavalasu area.



Based on this information, police rushed to the spot, recovered the body, and transported it to the Dharapuram Government Hospital.

Doctors there examined Damodaran's body and said he was already dead.

Following this, his body has been kept in the mortuary for post-mortem.



The police have registered a case and are investigating various angles, including whether damodaran was murdered and hanged to death or whether he committed suicide due to mental stress.
