Will the demands of the farmers be fulfilled if kalaignar kottam is opened? - Pollachi Jayaraman

If the opposition parties are to work together, the farmers' crisis must be resolved. Will the farmers' requests be fulfilled if the kalaignar kottam is opened? Pollachi MLA Pollachi Jayaraman questioned.

Coimbatore: Pollachi MLA Pollachi Jayaraman has questioned whether the farmers' requests will be fulfilled if kalaignar kottam is opened.

Pollachi MLA and former Speaker Pollachi Jayaraman submitted a memorandum to the Coimbatore district collector demanding various demands. He then met the press.

Then he said, Coconut cultivation in Pollachi, Kinathukadavu, Udumalpet and Anaimalai areas has deteriorated over a period of two years. The price at which it was sold 20 years ago is falling.

The opposition leader and I have spoken about it several times in the Assembly. But it didn't bring any relief. Farmers are suffering as a result of high fertiliser prices and a lack of labour. The traders who sell copra are incurring huge losses.

The procurement price of copra coconut was Rs 140 when Edappadi K Palaniswami was chief minister. Today, there is no one to buy even for 70 rupees. There is no one in the government who will listen to anything expressed about it. We discussed this thoroughly with the district president.

We want to find a solution soon, or else there would be a large protest by farmers. This is also a warning to the government. How can farmers make a living if the amount they paid 20 years ago remains the same?

How may medical expenses be dealt with? I request that the Chief Minister consider it. Similarly, in Pollachi, as an opposition MLA, all completed development works have been halted for without any reason. A total of Rs 70 crore has been allotted for the project, which has yet to be completed.

For the past two years, the Western Bypass road has been closed. Similarly, Rs 71 crore had been allocated for Kovilpalayam-Vellalore, and contract works were announced, with measures taken to stop the work before it began.

In Pollachi, when Edappadi was the chief minister in the heart of the city, it was decided to construct an eight-storey hospital with a provision of Rs 50 crore. The five-storey edifice has been constructed and now it too has been put on hold.

So the general hospital should be completed immediately. Doctors and health staff are needed immediately for the Pollachi Government Hospital District Hospital.

When former minister Velumani was in office, further Rs 71 crore was set aside for the drinking water project. Although the construction began in 2019, it has yet to be completed.

In response to a query about Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's visit to Kalaignar Kottam in Thiruvarur, He stated that if the opposition is to work together, the farmers' problem must be resolved. Will the needs of the farmers in this area be fulfilled if Kalaignar Kottam is opened?

People are battling to see increases in their power bills, house rent, house tax, milk price hikes, property tax hikes, water tax, and so on. The other parties, which have been silent, are quickly raising their voices in support of Senthil Balaji's arrest.

It is not the opposition party and the mouthpiece of the ruling party does not ask about the Jalra parties. In response to a concern about chennai rain water logging, the work was started when the AIADMK was in power through the Smart City initiative. But by then the rule was over. They should do it properly and do the work of creating flood water. This is what he said.
