ED officials raid residences of Min. Senthil Balaji and his brother in Chennai and Karur

The ED has been conducting searches at the Minister's residence in Chennai's Green Corridor, his Karur residence and his brother's house, since morning in connection with alleged irregularities in appointments of the Transport Department during the previous AIADMK regime.



The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has been conducting searches at Minister Senthil Balaji's Government residence in Chennai's Green Corridor, his residence in Karur and his brother's house, since Tuesday morning. 

The raids are being done in connection with the alleged irregularities in the appointments of the Transport Department during the previous AIADMK regime. 

The Income Tax Department had conducted searches at 40 locations, which included the residences of the brother of the Minister of Electricity, Senthil Balaji and his relatives. Even as the raids at some of these locations lasted for over a week, Income Tax officials seized various documents. 

In respose to media queries on the raids, Minister Senthil Balaji told reporters that he had not been informed about the raids which are still in progress. "Nothing can be said at the moment. We will wait and see. I will cooperate fully with the investigation and will meet the press again, after the raids are completed," assured the Minister.
