Transgender rescued in a burnt state near Gandhipuram

A 39-year-old woman's charred body was found in a privately-owned plot near Gandhipuram in Coimbatore, following which a medical examination revealed that the deceased was a transgender. The police are also investigating the identity of the deceased transgender.


Coimbatore: A medical examination has revealed that the person whose charred body was found in Gandhipuram area is that of a transgender.



Rathinapuri police received information that the charred body of a 39-year-old woman was found in a privately-owned plot in Gandhipuram area of Coimbatore.



The police reached the spot and recovered the body of the deceased.

A medical examination revealed that the deceased was a transgender.

The police are investigating as to why she came and who finally used the place where the transgender's body was recovered.

The police are also taking steps to nab the culprits using cctv footage installed on the roadsides in the area.
