Construction worker died in wall collapse in Tirupur

Ramamoorthy, a construction worker, died on the spot after the construction wall of a printing company collapsed in Tirupur. Another person has been admitted to the hospital with injuries. The police are investigating the matter.


Tirupur: A construction worker died after a wall collapsed in Tirupur.

Muthuraja (40) is a resident of Kandasamy Layout, Kongu Main Road, Tirupur. He runs a printing company in his own building. In this case, repair work was going on in his place. Rammoorthy (50) and Praveen (22), both residents of Gobichettipalayam, were working in the area.

The two were engaged in construction work this afternoon when suddenly a wall in a part of the building collapsed and fell on both of them. On seeing this, the neighbours immediately rushed to the rescue of the two men trapped under the debris of the building.



Ramamoorthy succumbed to his injuries on the spot after the wall fell on him.

Praveen, who was seriously injured, was admitted to Tirupur government hospital for treatment.



Tirupur North police, who reached the spot, recovered Ramamurthy's body and sent it to Tirupur government hospital for post-mortem.



The North police have registered a case and are investigating the matter.
