More than 20 shops were removed from the inner and outer parts of the Gandhipuram bus stand in Coimbatore. A team led by Mahesh Kanagaraj, Assistant Commissioner, Central Zone Corporation, was involved in the work.
Coimbatore: The Coimbatore Municipal Corporation administration has been actively engaged in removing the encroachments for the past few months.
Land belonging to the corporation is also being reclaimed at various places.
In this situation, the corporation officials removed more than 20 encroached shops inside and outside the Gandhipuram city bus stand.
The corporation administration had earlier issued notices to various shops, including tea stalls, cellphone shops, cobblers, soft drink shops, etc., which were being encroached upon inside and outside the Gandhipuram city bus stand.
However, following the functioning of various shops, more than ten officials led by Central Zone Corporation Assistant Commissioner Mahesh Kanagaraj today removed the encroached shops with the help of the police.
As a result, the shop owners took away the items kept in the shops.
