Tamil Nadu rains: Prices of jasmine risen in Coimbatore

Due to incessant rains in Tamil Nadu, the jasmine flower in the Coimbatore flower market has risen sharply to Rs. 600 per kg today. Similarly, mullai was sold for Rs 240 per kg and marigold for Rs 380 per kg.


Coimbatore:Every day, flowers are brought to Vadakovai for sale from the Nilgiris, Mettupalayam, Sathyamangalam, Erode, Dindigul, Nilakottai, and other areas.

As the production of flowers increased since the onset of summer, the price of spare flowers had fallen. Accordingly, for the last two months, the price of jasmine has not gone up by more than Rs 300 per kg. Similarly, other spare flowers were also sold at a lower price.

Due to the recent heavy rains in Tamil Nadu, flowers have fallen and production has been affected. As a result of the decrease in the arrival of jasmine flowers into the Coimbatore flower market, the price of jasmine flowers has risen.Yesterday, a kilo of jasmine flower, which had been priced at Rs 300 for two months, was sold at 600 per Kg.

Similarly, marigold was priced at Rs 380 per kg, mullai was priced at Rs 240 per kg, paneer rose was priced at Rs 320 per kg, and sampangi was priced at Rs 80 per kg.
