Coimbatore Peacocks Trapped in Electric Wires: Activists Call for Forest Department Action

Two peacocks were killed after being struck by an electric wire at Coimbatore's Race Course area. The forest department reached and took away the deceased peacocks. Activists have urged the forest department to take appropriate steps to prevent the death of peacocks.

In this case, there are a huge number of government officials' quarters in the Race Course region, which is an important section of the city.



There are also empty spaces around it. A large number of peacocks come and go here in droves. In this situation, there have been incidents of peacocks getting trapped in the electric wires in the area and dying from time to time.



In this case, two peacocks were killed today after they got stuck in a transformer in the Race Course area. The forest department arrived on the scene after receiving a tip and removed the two deceased peacocks.



The continuous rise in the number of deaths of peacocks, the national bird, due to electrocution, has caused anguish among bird lovers. They have also urged the forest department to take appropriate action to prevent this.
