Coimbatore District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati distributed loans worth Rs. 39.30 lakh to 11 beneficiaries at a meeting of the District Task Force held at the Collectorate in Coimbatore under the 'Vaazhnthu Kaattuvom' scheme.
Coimbatore: A sum of Rs 39.30 lakh has been disbursed to 11 beneficiaries at a meeting of the District Task Force under the 'Vaazhnthu Kaattuvom' scheme by the Coimbatore District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati.
The meeting was attended by the Assistant Director of 'Vaazhnthu Kaattuvom' scheme Ramachander, District Pioneer Bank Manager Kausalya Devi and Vazhvu Kaattuvom Project Officers.

In order to promote rural industries in Tamil Nadu and to increase the income of the rural people, the World Bank-funded 'Vaazhnthu Kaattuvom' scheme is being implemented in 54 Village Panchayats in four blocks namely Karamadai, Annur, Periyanaickenpalayam and Sarkar Samakulam in Coimbatore District.
Loan with 30 percent collateral subsidy is provided under this scheme to create new industries and to develop existing industries.
Accordingly, at the District Task Force meeting held on Wednesday, 11 beneficiaries were given loan assistance with 30 percent co-subsidy (11.79 lakh) worth Rs. 39.30 lakhs.
