The forest department has sanctioned Rs 2,000 in emergency aid for Seethamuni Kumari, a labourer from the northern state who was injured in a leopard attack at Valparai in Coimbatore district and is being treated in a hospital.
Coimbatore: Seethamuni Kumari, a woman labourer from the northern state, was attacked by a leopard yesterday at Sirukundra Estate near Valparai in Coimbatore.
His limbs had been wounded. He was then sent to the Valparai Government Hospital for medical treatment.

Azhagusundaravalli Selvam, President of the Valparai Municipal Council, visited and consoled the woman who had been attacked by a leopard at the hospital.

Manikandan, a 17th ward member, Anbarasan, a 12th ward member, and Selvam, a former ward member, were also present.
Meanwhile, Valparai Forest Ranger Venkatesh personally visited the victim who is being treated in a hospital and donated Rs 2,000 as an immediate relief fund, wishing her a speedy recovery.
