Fire breaks out at a shoe shop on Oppanakara Street in Coimbatore

As a result, four more fire tenders have been called in. Firefighters were engaged in extinguishing the fire. However, the fire could not be brought under control immediately.


Coimbatore: Diwak Prasad Parikh hails from R S Puram in Coimbatore. He owns a shoe and equipment for sportspersons, a shoe shop and a godown at Town Hall Oppanakara Street in Coimbatore. He used to finish his business at night and sleep in a godown on the ground floor.

At this stage, he closed the shop and went to bed in the godown after finishing his business as usual at night. Then smoke came out of the godown. Shocked to see this, he left the godown. At that time, a fire broke out in the godown. On seeing this, motorists passing by immediately informed the Coimbatore South fire station about the incident. A fire tender was rushed to the spot and firefighters rushed to the spot to douse the fire.



The fire spread uncontrollably from the godown to the shoe shop. As a result, the entire three-storey building was gutted in the fire. The fire also broke out at gold company and finance company in the same building. As a result, four more fire tenders have been called in. Firefighters were engaged in extinguishing the fire. However, the fire could not be brought under control immediately.

A water cannon vehicle was also brought there to douse the fire. In this horrific fire, goods worth lakhs of rupees were destroyed in the fire. Big Bazaar Street police are investigating the incident.
