Coimbatore: Laghu Udyog Bharati has welcomed the allocation of funds for metro rail services in tier-II cities.

In a statement, Vijayaraghavan, president of Laghu Udyog Bharati, said, the allocation of Rs 17,500 crore for metro connectivity in tier-II cities of Coimbatore and Madurai is welcome. Projects including skill development centre (TN-WISH) at Ambattur Industrial Estate at a cost of Rs 120 crore are welcome.

He said that such additional centres should be allocated to all districts based on the goods produced in the particular region. The allocation of Rs 1509 crore to MSME is welcome, he added.
