70 kg of ganja chocolates worth Rs 7 lakh were seized from a car during a vehicle check near Thudiyalur in Coimbatore. Two young men from northern states have been arrested in this connection.
Coimbatore: On the orders of Coimbatore District Superintendent of Police Badrinarayanan, a series of raids are being conducted across Coimbatore district to eradicate drugs.
In this case, a vehicle inspection was conducted near Arumugam Rice Mill on Saravanampatti-Thudiyalur road under the leadership of Special Cell Sub-Inspector Kuppuraj.
At that time, the police stopped the car passing by and conducted a search and found two suspicious bags.
When the police opened it, they found that there were ganja chocolates.
Following this, the drivers of the car were taken to Thudiyalur police station and interrogated.
They have been identified as Chandan Kumar (30) and Anhit Kumar (19), both residents of Bihar, who were running a grocery shop in Kalapatti area, where he illegally took ganja to sell chocolates.
Following this, the police seized 70 kg of ganja chocolates and a luxury car worth around Rs 7 lakh and arrested the duo and produced them in court and sent them to jail.
