Major Fire breaks out at a coir factory near Udumalpet, Rs 1 crore worth of goods gutted

A massive fire broke out at a coir factory in Myvadi area near Udumalpet. Coconut fibre, and machinery worth about Rs 1 crore were gutted in the fire.


Tirupur: A private coir factory is functioning at Myvadi near Madathukulam near Udumalpet in Tirupur district.



A major fire broke out in the fiber that was stacked like a mountain and the fire spread rapidly.



Fire tenders, which rushed to the spot battled with the flames for more than two hours and brought the fire under control.



Coconut fibre, and machinery worth about Rs 1 crore were gutted in the fire.



The black smoke caused by the fire engulfed the entire area.
