Pipeline breaches in Racecourse area, causing inconvenience to walkers and the general public

Due to the sudden breaches in the drinking water pipes at various places in the Race Course area, the precious water was wasted and it causes inconvenience to the general public.


Coimbatore: The Coimbatore Race Course area is an important part of the city.

The area houses the quarters of government officials and educational institutions, including the District collector's residence.

In the meanwhile, various works are carried out in the area under the Smart City project.

A few months ago, footpaths were expanded under the Smart City project in the area and facilities were made available for children to exercise and play.

Various trees and plants are also being planted and maintained.

City denizens use the place for their morning and evening work. In addition, various programmes are also being conducted in the area on behalf of the Corporation and private companies.



The pipeline which was meant toirrigate the trees and plants developed breaches and waters gushed out like a fountain.



People who were walking in the area were inconvenienced as the pipes were breached and water flowed out of the area inundating the area.

The public has demanded that the Corporationshould immediately rectify the wastage of water.
