Nilgiris district officials felicitated for precautionary measures taken during monsoons

Commissioner of Revenue Administration and Additional Chief Secretary S.K. Prabhakar congratulated all the officers who performed excellent work during the monsoon season in the Nilgiris district.


The Nilgiris: A review meeting was held at the Nilgiris District Collectorate with government officials of all departments about the north-east and south-west monsoon rains.

Commissioner of Tamil Nadu Revenue Administration and Additional Chief Secretary S.K. Prabhakar presided over the meeting and in the presence of District Collector S.P. Amrith, government officials from all departments attended the review meeting.



Precautionary measures should be taken to ensure that there is no impact of rains during the coming rainy season in the Nilgiris district. Municipalities, Town Panchayats, Rural Development Department, Highways Department, Public Works Department (Water Resources) should complete the ongoing works expeditiously before the rainy season. It was also discussed through the Revenue and Disaster Management Department to provide regular mock drills to all government officials to act in natural calamities.

It was also requested to plan and utilize the funds allocated for the restoration of rain affected areas in a planned and proper manner.

Speaking on the occasion, Revenue Administration Commissioner Prabhakar expressed his appreciation to all government departmental officials who have done well during the northeast and south-west monsoons in the district.

Subsequently, he reviewed the welfare assistance provided to the public by the Revenue Department.



Yogeswari, daughter of Moorthy, a native of Adacholai in Ooty, who died while working as a laskar in the district Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare Department office, was given appointment orders for the post of office assistant on compassionate grounds.



Earlier, in the premises of the District Collectorate, a banner on behalf of the Revenue Department on government schemes, various equipments used by the Fire and Rescue Services Department during the disaster and Inspecting the functioning of the equipments, the records maintained in the office records deposit room in the District Collectorate, the records maintained at the District Emergency Control Centre, he personally inspected the works of the Chief Minister's Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme and the functioning of the e-Seva Kendra.



Special Area Development Project Director Dr. Monique Karana, District Forest Officer Goutham, District Revenue Officer Keerthi Priyadarshini, District Rural Development Agency Project Director Jayaraman, Additional Superintendent of Police Mohan Navas, Revenue Divisional Officers Duraisamy (Ooty), Mohammed Kuduratullah (Gudalur), Bhushanakumar (Coonoor), Highways Divisional Engineer K. K. Pillairaj, Personal Assistants to the Collector Dhanapriya (General) and other officials participated in the meeting.
