The youths arrested for selling narcotic tablets in Mathampalayam near Perianaickenpalayam

Three persons were arrested in the city for selling narcotic drugs including pills and ganja in Mathampalayam near Perianaickenpalayam. . Over 208 pills and syringes seized from them.


Coimbatore: Police have arrested three persons for selling ganja and narcotic tablets banned by the government in Mathampalayam area near Perianaickenpalayam.

A special team , which has been formed on the orders of SP Badrinarayanan to check the sale of drugs, including gutkha and ganja, received a tip-off that ganja and narcotic tablets were being sold in Mathampalayam area near Periyanayakanpalayam in Coimbatore.

Three youths were interrupted and interrogated. On checking them, it was found that they were in possession of ganja and narcotic pills and syringes.

The names of the arrested persons have been given as Govardhanan (23), Praveen Kumar (21) and Naveen Kumar (21), all residents of Periyanaickenpalayam.

It was also revealed that they were targeting the youth of the area and selling narcotic pills to the clientele.

The police arrested the trio and seized 200 grams of ganja and 280 narcotic tablets and syringes from their possession.
